Theory U: the U Process
Theory U is a 5-stage systems change process applicable to micro and macro systems alike. A wide
variety of methodologies directed at establishing and cultivating connections within systems and
between systems, is utilized within the ambit of the process. Reflective practices intended to create
optimal self-awareness within the system is emphasized, as is the intentional inclusion of as many
stakeholders as possible.
Techniques to test and confirm the implementation and effect of change incrementally is core to the process.
