OCC approaches consuting as a a collaborative process involving multiple stakeholders, with the purpose to create space to think about the managerial challenges and the visible and invisible group dynamics operating in the organisation and the effect it has on core business.
An analogy for consultancy would be the holding up mirrors to the manager, reflecting different angles of the problem. Another, is the peeling of an onion, with the layers removed one by one until the core issue is revealed.
The objective of any consultation is to create new insights and understanding in order to create possibilities for new actions, to plan actions and implement self learning systems of experimentation, reflection and accountability.
