Relational dynamics exist between colleagues on the same level, as well as up and down the organizational hierarchy. Companies traditionally measure Work Group dynamics. This measures how executives, managers and employees productively go about the core business of the organization, and work together to achieve company strategic goals and targets.
Simultaneously, and rather less easily observable are the Relational dynamics which have a direct impact on whether the organisation achieves its strategic goals, targets and aims.
These dynamics are embodied in relational challenges which include:
- Power, envy and competition
- Celebrating and attacking the company / team heroes
- Dependence/independence versus interdependence
- Group cohesion and group disintegration, or disconnectedness
- Fighting, or fleeing in the face of conflict rather that constructively engaging with challenges, etcetera.
OCC interventions is aimed to unpack these Relational Dynamics and seek to transform organizations into companies where cooperation and excellence are core values and leaders work actively to sustain these.
